Yoliin Am (The Vulture Valley) is a deep and narrow gorge in the Gurvan Saikhan Mountains. It is wide at entrance and narrows progressively into a gorge that contains ice through almost over the year. It is an interesting and beautiful place to visit during summer to feel ice below your feet.
Gobi Gurvan Saikhan Mountains (Three Beauties of Gobi) are three rocky mountains, the highest of which is 2815 meters above the sea level. The Yoliin Am was declared protected site in 1965, located 62 kilometers northwest of Dalanzadgad, in the center of South Gobi province. The gorge was created from continuous water erosion, and it is filled with ice and snow in winter which melts around September. Until recently the ice remained intact throughout a year even in years with hottest summers, but now the global warming seems to have affected this area as well.
The road following the canyon into the high rock walls has breathtaking dramatic scenery, so it is by no doubt one of the most beautiful places in to visit.
